After a motorcycle accident left me unable to walk, I was first treated in Des Moines and then transferred to Harmony House Healthcare Center for rehabilitation. At the time, I couldn’t walk at all. My number one goal was simple: I wanted to get back home. With the help of the rehab team at Harmony House, I went from being unable to walk to using a walker, and now I’m starting to walk with a cane. I’m not all the way there yet, but I’m getting closer every day. The progress I’ve made has been steady, and that’s thanks to the care and support I’ve received here. There have been a few memorable moments during my stay, but nothing tops that feeling of getting up and walking again for the first time. That was huge for me. I also enjoyed some of the available activities; they helped break up the day and gave me something extra to look forward to.If someone asked me whether I’d recommend Harmony House, the answer is yes. It’s a good facility, and I have no complaints. The staff, the therapy, and the environment have all been solid. I love everything about this place, and I’m grateful to be getting stronger with each passing day.
